Trying to find some footing

Written by Pat Lackey on .

The Pirates try to stop this latest losing streak at four games this evening with their second of three against the Astros. All isn't technically lost for 2012 yet, but it probably will be if the Pirates can't win these last two games against Houston at PNC Park. Wandy Rodriguez goes against his old club for the second time as a Pirate. Jordan Lyles, who's spent most of 2012 serving up home runs, goes for Houston.

Today's a travel day for me, but I should be back home before the first pitch. That's at 7:05. One would think that I'd be much more confident than I am about a quasi-must-win game against the Houston Astros, but, well, here we are.

Uh oh, Snider looks gimpy. Astros D is comical. Like Russell era Bucs comical.

It is simple.  Every game from here on out is must win.  They are not going to win them all, but they need to play them all as if there is no tomorrow.  This team needs to knuckle down, and show everyone that they have 162 games in them.,  Thanks to the Cards and Dodgers playing just as bad, the Pirates are still in a position where games in September matter.

I am not giving up until the third out in the top or bottom of the ninth in game 162.  They might tear my heart out, they might turn it around, either way I am not going anywhere.
