Minor leaguer Evan Chambers passes away at 24

This afternoon, news came out via Twitter that Pirate prospect Evan Chambers died over the weekend at the age of 24. The club released a brief statement about it Monday night, saying that Chambers died in his sleep over the weekend and that they will work with the Chambers family to find a charity in which donations can be made in Evan's name.

I don't have much else to say; this is really shocking, tragic news. Twenty-four is much, much too young.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
