Stop it

After winning three in a row, the Pirates have turned in two pretty ugly performances. It’d be nice if they stopped that this evening in Washington and earned a split of the four games they’ve played in Miami and DC in the first part of this week. The good news for the Pirates is that James McDonald, who’s been absolutely fantastic in his last four starts, is on the mound. The bad news is that in those four starts, the Pirates are 2-2 because they suck at hitting in the sort of way that makes you want to re-evaluate everything about your life.

Jordan Zimmermann goes for the Nats tonight. He’s pretty good, which is problematic for a team with the aforementioned terrible offense. First pitch is at 7:05.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
