Despite a strong start to 2013, AJ Burnett is only 3-6 and the Pirates have only won five of his 13 starts. Last year, Burnett made one of the best starts of his career against the Cubs. I think that it's time now for Burnett to turn things around, and the Cubs seem like a good place for that to happen. Why not, right?
Jeff Samardzija goes for the Cubs this afternoon, and I suppose he's a good enough reason why not. I don't have to tell you that he's owned the Pirates lately; even when they beat him ten days ago, they only scored once. Facing him with the Pirate offense struggling the way that it's struggling right now is a pretty daunting tast.
