Correia's chance

Written by Pat Lackey on .

After moping about for a couple weeks in the wake of the Wandy Rodriguez trade, Kevin Correia gets a spot start tonight to prove his point that he still deserves a spot in the starting rotation. Correia's only pitched once in relief since his last start on July 25th, so I'm quite a bit worried that he'll be rusty out on the mound tonight. He'll face off against Ian Kennedy, who's come back to Earth quite a bit in 2012 after his breakout 2011.

The Reds lost to the Brewers this afternoon, so the Pirates can get back to within 2 1/2 with a win tonight. The first pitch is at 7:05.

And another run scores thanks to defensive incompetence...

If the Pirates could play anything resembling average defense, the D-backs would've scored like 2 runs tonight.
