Another Saturday afternoon game

After like a thousand years of the Pirates never being on national TV, they’re on FOX this afternoon for the third time in about a month. The Pirates have been terrible for the entire month, which means that no one besides people that live in Pittsburgh or wherever the team the Pirates are playing is from can watch them. Today, I get to watch the Twins instead!

Last night’s game turned on pretty much two pitches. Jose Veras had a full count on Matt Holliday and thought he’d struck him out. Instead, he walked Holliday and Lance Berkman then sent the go-ahead homer into the stands seconds later. Today, Brad Lincoln and Chris Carpenter face off in St. Louis. I’d like to see Lincoln pitch, but I guess that’s not an option for me.

First pitch is at 4:10.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
