Ronald Uviedo

StatsMinor League SplitsWTM

After two very good seasons as a reliever low in the Pirates system, the Bucs switched Uviedo into a starting role with Lynchburg in 2009. He pitched well there early in the season, but had some arm problems and really struggled in July and August. He’s probably headed back to the bullpen as a result, but if he regains his 2007-2008 form, he could move through the upper parts of the system quickly because not only does he throw hard, but his 2.3 BB/9 rate indicates that he can actually throw strikes.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
