I can't imagine Pittsburgh sports without SportsBeat. Thanks for everything, Stan.

I was out of town and just heard the news about Sportsbeat. What happened? Was this sudden or Did I miss something along the way?

It seemed like canceling the show was a pretty sudden thing. I guess we can look forward to FSN running yet another hour of poker or the Best Damn Sports Show...

I thought the quality of guests and the show itself went downhill a bit since Guy left, but I'm still sad to see it go. As a Pittsburgh sports fan in my early 20's, basically my entire recollection of local sports has been shaped by Sportsbeat. I think losing the show will leave a significant void in local sportstalk.

Thanks Stan! I just wish our beloved Buccos could have given better memories in that time like our other two teams did!

For the guys that asked, long-story short is that Liberty Media doesn't have "original programming" in the budget for the sports stations that it owns, which is why Stan got the axe. They'll keep showing the Pirates and Pens and the shows related to them, but other than that it's gonna be awful, mindless content.
