Ross Ohlendorf and Ricky Nolasco go at 1:10 today. The Pirates are without Freddy Sanchez again, the Marlins are without Hanley Ramirez. Nolasco has really settled in in the last month and looked a lot like the young ace the Marlins expect him to be. Ohlendorf has made two good starts in a row since his debacle against Colorado and he turned a great start in against Florida in April, tossing seven shut-out innings and striking out five. If he can mix and match his breaking pitches with his fastball like he did against the Cubs, he could have a lot of success against the Marlins lineup without Ramirez.

Another family gathering this afternoon, another 10 or 15 questions about Nyjer Morgan. And I live in Iowa. My cousin came up to me and said "Way to get Lastings Milledge." The rest were mostly "The Pirates are so stupid getting rid of Nyjer like that..."

Rehabbing in Bradenton with Doumit, Rinku, and Dinesh (who are not rehabbing).

Doumit is actually in AAA right now, not Bradenton. He's almost done rehabbing.

ah thanks, I was just looking at the last GCL Pirates box score. Let me revise my statement: according to their roster Milledge is still in Bradenton, with Rinku, Dinesh and Henry Henry. (And they don't list him with a number.)

He's also from Bradenton. I did not know that.
